ACTIVITIES CONTRIBUTING TO DEVELOPMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
SVŠGL has been registered with Slovenian Eco-schools since 2002. During the years we have been actively involved in the environmental education, namely with various school activities, events, exhibitions, collection campaigns, vivarium and environmental workshops. These have been conducted under the auspices of UNESCO and within other project or self-conducted.
In the school year 2005/06 we felt the time had come for creation of the Eco-flag. On 5th May 2006 we have signed the Eco-document, thus setting our goal for the next school year to participate more actively in the open tender of Eco-school activities, alongside other environmental projects.
The decision made was not to opt for one thematic scope, but many due to severity of environmental problems: refuse, climate change, animals, water, healthy lifestyle and human relations. We especially pride ourselves on the Eco-logo design, the first prize in environmental literary competition, inter-subject integration and the Eco-day (which has now become the Eco-week).
